Life on the Farm
Have you ever wondered about life far, far away from town? Off grid living? Alternative home construction (check out our friends at StrawBale.com)? Growing your own food? Keeping livestock and keeping them healthy? Great home-cooked, healthy recipes? Outdoor adventures off-roading, backpacking and exploring? Raising Australian Shepherd puppies (or dogs in general)? If these are topics that have your curiosity peaked, this is the right place for you! Follow our homesteading family adventures growing our farm in the Arizona desert!
Our family started out in 2016 with 1.15 acre property in Northwestern Arizona with an ancient single wide mobile home, a shed and a fence and a couple of water tanks. It had no well and wasn’t even fully cleared or level. We also had our 2 horses, 2 Australian Shepherds and our oldest son, Jacob.
Now we have close to 5 acres, an orchard, a well (thanks to Water Well Trust), a shop, a garden and open fields to expand. We still have our 2 old horses, but now we have 6 ASCA and AKC registered Australian Shepherds. We raise registered, health tested Aussie puppies – the ultimate family and farm dog. Our youngest son, Cody, also joined our family along the way and is in charge of “puppy wrangling”. We did it all on a shoestring budget! We still have big plans and more adventures to come!
